    Marmar-

I think its fine until you start to juice it or blend it. If its still in the leaf, but cut off, it will be alright for sometime.

So keep it intact until you are ready to juice. Try adding in some turmeric too!

Raw, you mentionied to drink the juice within 10 minutes, otherwise the aloe enzimes go bad. My question is, if you cut an aloe leaf from a plant, how long will it be before it is not good for consumption?
Or does the time limit only apply immediately after juicing?

    Um…no :) Glad the leaves are coming…

The skin yes, the gel, heavens no.

I would just search online for organic aloe leaves or check your local health food source.

Ive eaten some of the skin, but I usually skip this. I found some wild aloe in LA once and ate the whole leaf, and I felt a little funny.

    Stick with the gel :)

  8. isaachaze1 on December 20th, 2009 8:15 pm

i’d probably put ice in there instead of the um, liquid water, just so it was nice and cold. thanks though for the recipe. i would have never though of aloe vera

Oh NO way…that would be very nasty.

keep the pith (the white exterior) but the peel should go (unless you like that sort of thing…I DO NOT).
