banana hair smoothie : Smoothie Smoothies Recipes

banana hair smoothie

I really didn’t measure it, but here’s what I used: Banana (PLEASE PUREE IT FIRST) Yogurt Honey Veggie Glycerin Extra Virgin Coconut Oil Olive Oil *a tiny amount of QB Amla & Olive Heavy Cream Put on hair, cover with plastic cap/bag, wrap with warm towel and let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Rinse out and keep it moving. Oh and while your waiting on your smoothie to beautify your hair, go check out EmpressRi’s videos: www.youtube.com

Great question! I suppose it’s to be a conditioning, softening, moisturizing or fortifying treatment for the hair. From my experience, however, I think it mostly makes the hair smell wonderful. LOL!

I’m not an authority on this stuff so if anyone else has some answers or corrections feel fre…

Honey is supposed to be a good antibacterial agent. It’s also a humectant – like veggie glycerine and castor oil – so it takes moisture from the air and puts it into your hair. It softens and gives hair sheen. Many women with locs use it with aloe vera gel to twist their hair. Hope this helps

I’ll try avocado next time, but I’ll be sure to puree it first. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. @ taking other people’s avocados. I can’t lie. I’d be tempted to do the same. LOL

i make one like that with avocado instead of banana. my ends feel so much better when im done! we have avocado trees around so it makes it easier for me to get them, as long as the people dont see me get them from their yard ;)

I’m telling you I knew mashing it wasn’t the best idea when I was doing it, but I continued anyway LOL. When I went on the hair forums and saw how many folks had trouble with it too, I secretly felt better.

    The hair smells sooo yummy.

I’ve been natural since April 2006 (one big chop in April and another one in October of that year).

Length will come with time. The protective styles are a great idea!

Ooohhhh bananas! Yummy. Who are you talking about? (The person you mentioned)

  24. DreamsInPixels on January 27th, 2010 4:37 pm

LOL at the banana bits on the wall…that cracked me up! :o) Please tell me how many years/months natural you are, Timah. I’ve been sporting protected styles for a whole year, and I need a length to aspire to. :ol
