Can you make a smoothie without milk and water to substitute?
Category: Smoothie Q&A
Can you make a smoothie without milk and water to substitute see my mom wont let us use the milk so i was wondering if you can make it with water and or soda?? I’m using strawberries watermelon grapes and cantaloupe

I don’t think so. It really wouldn’t turn out the same.
yeah i only make mine with water. or even try juice. also soda is good it gives it a extra kick
water, sure. I do water or juice all the time. Mix the soda in after. Soda in the blender won’t do well. All the carbonation will be lost.
It wouldn’t be very good with water, but I always make my smoothies with a cup of orange juice. It makes it so sweet with a little sourness. Try it! :D
you can try using yogurt- healthy and delicious!
You do not need the milk, just add ice and a little water, it will be delicious!
if you got yogurt use that and juice but not orange use strawberries , or raspberries
I make smoothies often for my grandchildren. I sometimes use milk, but if I choose not to, I substitute milk for juice. I feel that water would dilute the flavour too much. That is my humble opinion. I tend to freeze juice into ice cube containers for smoothies or freeze sliced banana into zip lock bags rather than using water.ice cubes.

Tips
- Squeeze at least one fruit drink a day. In this way you eat about 3 to 4 fruits so you can fulfill your daily need;
- Put some ice cubes in the blender with your juice. This cools your fruit drink quickly in summer;
- Put a little bit of banana in your juice mix and blend it like a milk-shake. This gives your fruit drink a certain softness and reduces the bitterness (caused by grapefruits for example);
- Take sweet fruits to blend. Use citrus fruits (oranges, red-grapefruits) as a basis and mix it in the blender with the sweet fruits of your choice. You can squeeze a jar of orange juice that you keep in the fridge and blend it with the fruit of your choice when you want to.
You could use water or soda but it wouldn’t be a smoothie. It would be more like juice and if you add ice it would be a slushy.
