Keep peeled frozen bananas in the freezer. When you add them to smoothies you get a deliciously thick and creamy blend whether you use milk, soymilk or juice as a base. Frozen berries are good too.

I like to add fresh fruit with milk, ice, and you can put in some frozen yogurt. Bananas, stawberries are family favorite choices for fruit around here. You can also add OJ for the vitamn C.

Here is a recipe for my favorite smoothie:

1/4 cup mixed frozen raspberries, strawberries, blueberries
    1 frozen cut up banana
    1 cup orange juice
3 tablespoons yogurt (low fat vanilla or the flavored variety)

    Blend together and enjoy!

I usually use frozen fruit (berries and peaches are good), fat-free yogurt, skim milk, and a little honey. I’ve also used soy milk and chocolate soy milk for different flavors.

And if you want to save some time in the morning…you can put the milk, yogurt, and honey into the blender pitcher the night before and put it in the fridge. Then in the morning, just add the frozen fruit and let it rip on the blender. It’s a huge time-saver for me. It literally takes me 60 seconds to make my breakfast in the morning.

    Hope this helps!
