How do I make a smoothie with these ingredients?

Category: Smoothie Articles

Ok, so I’m really in the mood for a smoothie for breakfast. I have bananas, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, oranges, ice cream (if it matters!), milk, orange juice, sugar, and some ice. What kind of smoothie can I make? And how?

I love smoothies, because you can make them with anything you like. Here’s a basic smoothie recipe which you can flavor with 2 to 3 handfuls of any chosen fruit. Or flavor it using 1 of the 3 fantastic combinations given below.

    1 banana
2 to 3 large handfuls of chosen fruit
    Approximately 1 pint glass ice
    1/2 pint heavy cream

Place the banana and your chosen fruit into a blender and whiz for 30 seconds. Add the ice cream. Place the lid back on tightly and pulse the blender a couple of times on and off to break up the larger pieces of ice, before whizzing up to a semi-slushy milkshake consistency.
If you haven’t got a blender, you can do as I have been known to do — place the ice into a clean tea towel and bash the hell out of it with a rolling pin before stirring in the mashed fruit and the cream. It’s good, but not quite as good. The 3 smoothies below can be made by following this basic recipe, using the listed ingredients as your chosen fruit.

    Blackberry and Pineapple Smoothie:
    2 handfuls blackberries
1 handful peeled and chopped fresh pineapple
    Banana and Honey Smoothie:
    1 banana
    2 tablespoons honey
    2 heaping tablespoons peanut butter
    Raspberry and Strawberry Smoothie:
    1 handful raspberries
    2 handfuls strawberries

    Banana-Orange-Strawberry Fruit Shake
    1/2 cup orange juice
    1/2 banana, frozen
    6 strawberries, frozen
    1/2 cup water
    1 tbsp. skim milk powder
1 heaping tbsp. high- quality protein powder (optional)
    1 tsp. flax oil (optional)
    ——————————–
In a blender, process all the ingredients until thoroughly mixed and serve.

** The strawberries and bananas would taste fine even if they’re not frozen… Just use the milk you have in place of the skim milk powder, too. ** Hope this helps!

You can pretty much make any kind of smoothie but my favorite is the classic strawberry banana. When I was on a cruise ship, I took a smoothie tasting and making class and it’s simple. What you should use is use a blender and toss in some strawberries and a banana, then add just a spoonful of vanilla ice cream and milk and some yogurt.
