How long would a fresh fruit smoothie last in the refrigerator?

Category: Smoothie Q&A

I would like to make a week’s worth of smoothie (strawberries, banana and apple juice), I am wondering if it would stay fresh and not cause foodbourne illness without pasteurization.

You could make the whole jug of smmothie, and freeze daily quantitys in your freezer. then just take them out of the freezer to deforst naturally. Then they’ll be ice cold too!

Whenever I buy a fresh fruit smoothie, I only drink half and put it in the fridge. It’s not drinkable the next day. As far as foodborne illnesses, if they’re in the fridge I’d give it 3 days, max.

Not a good idea. Smoothies tend to settle and seperate quickly. So it wouldn’t have that yum factor. As far as spoilage goes, I tend to toss left overs after 4 days, but you could probably go longer depending on the container.
