How many calories is in a BANANA-PEANUT BUTTER smoothie?

Category: Smoothie Q&A

For breakfast today, I had a banana peanut butter smoothie. I added soymilk and honey to it. Is that bad? Is it too many calories for breakfast?

Ooooh a lot! Unfortunately! A banana by itself is okay, but as a smoothie there’s a lot more calories – honey is loaded with calories, and peanut butter is my worst diet nightmare! It is very high in calories and fat. If this is all you had for breakfast than that’s okay, just have a light lunch! :)

1 tbsp peanut butter: 90 calories
(try to think about how many table spoons you put in, they have to be level offed, then multiply)
    1 banana: 105 calories
soy milk: 90 calories (1 cup)
    honey: .5 oz, 43 calories
    +________
328 calories (1 tbsp peanut butter)
418 calories (2 tbsp peanut butter)
508 calories (3 tbsp peanut butter)

This is an o-k breakfast if your were satisfied. At least you ate breakfast, which prevents binging later on and stimulates metabolism. Banana and soy milk is healthy, honey gives flavor and peanut butter has tons of protein but 8g fat [per tbsp]. Meals should be 500 calories & under. I aim for 400 calories for breakfast. Snacks are 150 for women, 200 for men.
