I would like to try to water fast and start a green smoothie diet?

Category: Smoothie Q&A

I’m 14 and would like to go on a raw food diet, including a green smoothie diet but would like to try water fasting first. How long should I and how often? How does it feel while fasting? And has anyone been on a green smoothie diet? How has it affected you? Thanks!

You’re 14 and still growing until you’re 21. Going on a fasting smoothie diet is not good for you because your gums, bones, continue to grow. If you don’t take care of them while they’re growing, you’ll end up losing your teeth sooner, your hair & nails to fall off sooner, and the rest of your bones go weak and break when you fall.

This is the time to take care of them, to have a stronger foundation for the rest of your body, to hold for the rest of your life – like when you start going to menapause in your 50′s to 80 years old.

It is possible to lose weight quickly but you should be realistic and accept that if you lose weight fast then you will almost certainly put it all back on again just as fast. I lost 7 pounds during the last couple of weeks when I had a special celebration to attend, and I did it by following the tips supplied on the site in the box below.

    Hi

Its a good idea but remember you cant just replace all your meals with smoothies etc. Do what I do, I lost two stone!. Just type in google about your calorie intake and find out how many calories you need a day to maintain your weight. When you have found this out cut it by 500 calories which will make you lose weight e.g if you needed 2000 calories to maintain your weight reduce it by 500 to 1500. Also eat 5-6 meals a day, which consists of 3 main meals and 3 snacks, for example:

    Breakfeast- around 300 calories

Morning snack- 150-200 calories (cut out any sugary foods and fatty junk food)

    Lunch- around 300-400 calories

    Afternoon snack- 150-200 calories

Dinner- 300-500 calories (try to eat 5 fruit and veg a day)

Also remeber to cut refined carbohydrates as it adds fat to your body (white bread etc) Also try to do 30 minutes cardio a day. Good luck!
