How can I make a smoothie with a can of frozen juice?

Question by foq23: How can I make a smoothie with a can of frozen juice?
I had a smoothie at school that had frozen juice, frozen fruit and water? It was so good. I want that exact recipe or close to it. All I need is amount of everything to add.

the way i answer questions is this and i just want to make it clear. I answer questions depending on the situations and circumstances. I wont just give you an answer to earn points as if your question is not important.>>>>Well it all depends. Just for safety make sure to see the back for expiring dates. Put the frozen canned fruit in a blender then the next thing you might want to do is pour milk or evaporated milk from Nestle ( i highly recommend it ). Then you might want to hit the blending button to low for 30 seconds. Then you put ice ( you thought i forgot the ice?). Then hit the blending button to high. then put sugar. PS>>> By the way the reason you blend the canned fruit with the Nestle milk alone fo 30 seconds is so that the milk and sugar wont get stuck to the ice. You want the milk to dissolve and to flavor the canned fruit or else it might not taste good.

Quick Tip – Frozen Fruit Smoothie Makes The Perfect Healthy Treat

I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for a light and preferably ice-cold frozen treat during the hot summer months. A yummy option is a frozen fruit smoothie made with plenty of strawberries, bananas, some low-fat vanilla yogurt and a splash of skim milk. It tastes good and is actually good for me. Let’s take a look at exactly why this cool drink is so good for us.

Let’s start with the frozen fruit. You know how healthy eating plenty of fruit is. It is full of fiber and of course vitamins. You may be surprised to find that it is actually better to use frozen fruit. By using frozen fruit, you make sure you get produce that still has the maxium amount of nutrition in it. Since fresh produce is a couple of days old by the time you get it from the store, frozen vegetables and fruits are actually healthier and better for us. Remember it takes time to pick it, process it and ship it to your grocery store. In that time, many of the nutrients (and vitamins) start to go away. That’s why it’s even better to use frozen fruit in your smoothies.

The Dairy Products – The next two ingredients in our smoothie are also quite good for you. What we’ll add next is skim milk and low-fat yogurt. Both of them have quite a bit of calcium that our bones need. This is especially important for women to know. As we get older our bones are depleted of calcium and we have to replenish it or risk osteoporosis as we get older. For the same reason, smoothies are also healthy for kids. Their bones are still growing and need lots of calcium to grow strong.

Both yogurt and milk also contain protein which plays an important factor in muscle building and maintenance. It is very important to get plenty of protein when you are dieting or most of your weight loss will be in muscle instead of body fat.

Staying Hydrated – Smoothies also help us stay well hydrated because of the liquid from both from the milk (or juice if you prefer) and from the fruit itself. Without plenty of water our bodies can not function and during a hot summer day we tend to lose even more than usual of the precious liquid. Smoothies are a great way to help us stay hydrated – of course you should still make sure you drink plenty of plain water as well.

Beause these smoothies are frozen, they also help us cool down when we drink them. And that’s just one of the many reasons why drinking a frozen fruit smoothie is a good idea. Another is that they are healthy, realtively low in calories and taste very very yummy. And that’s why this type of smoothie is such a wonderful treat.

If there is one treat my family asks for over and over that I don’t mind indulging them in, it is frozen fruit smoothies. They are simple to make and are actually good for you. You can make these delicious cool drinks with just about any type of fruit or even combine different types of fruit. Here’s how to make your very own frozen fruit smoothie. You won’t believe how simple this is.

What You Will Need:

We will start with the appliance. You are going to need a blender. Almost any type of blender with a tight fitting lid will do. A small, personal blender like the magic bullet is nice to have becasue you can customize each smoothie. Of course regular blenders work just as well, plus you can make more servings at a time.

Now let’s grab some frozen fruit. You can make frozen smoothies with just about any type of fruit and of course also combinations of fruit. Some simple ones to start with are strawberries, bananas and peaches.

Consider adding some low-fat yogurt to your smoothies. I like the tart flavor and it creates a nice smooth texture. You can use any type of yogurt. I usually stick to low-fat versions to keep the calories in check. You can also use greek yogurt which is thicker and has more protein per serving.

Last but not least we will need some sort of liquid to help get the smoothie to a consistency that will work in the blender. Milk, water and juice are popular options. Add just enough liquid to get the smoothie to the consistency you like. I like to start with 2 parts frozen fruit, 1 part yogurt and 1 part liquid. A good example would be 2 cups frozen strawberries blended with 1 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt and 1 cup skim milk.

You may want to add a little less liquid to begin with and then add just enough more to get it to your favorite smoothie consistency. Optionally you can also blend some ice in there as well.

Let’s Start Blending :

Let’s talk about blending. I like to start with my fruit and yogurt and get it blended a bit before adding more liquids and ice (if needed). If your blender has a pulsing function (most do) use it. It allows any larger piece of fruit to sink back down to the bottom and get chopped up. This will make sure everything gets pureed and blended nicely resulting in a yummy smoothie.

Be careful not to burn out your blender by making your smoothie too thick. If it sounds like it’s working too hard trying to mix everything, add a splash of water or the liquid you are using in the smoothie.

If you are planning on using a good bit of ice in your smoothie, start by chopping it in your blender first before you add any of the fruit or yogurt. It will help mix the other ingredients together.

Of course you can also include some fresh fruit in your smoothie. If you do add a little ice as well to make sure your finished result stays frozen. For these frozen smoothies you can either buy fruit already frozen at the grocery store, or take your favorite fresh fruit and toss it in the freezer. It is very easy to freezer berries for example. Just put them in a freezer bag and freeze them whole.

Most of my frozen fruit smoothies contain frozen banana slices. Just peel your banana and slice it. The banana slices go into a freezer bag and are poped into the freezer until I am ready to use them in a smoothie. Adding them gives your smoothie a nice creamy texture and adds some sweetness as well.
