how do i make any flavor smoothie?

i just got a blender and made a smoothie- it was GROSS!!!!

hheres wat i did,
added crushed ice and a little bt of water [ a lot of ice]
put in about 6 strawberries [big ones]
1 banana
and put it on until it was all creamy.

it was sick,
so i added a lot of suger.

now its all grainy and sickly sweet in a really nasty way.

HOW CAN I MAKE A GOOD ONE???
