SURE! but i would add some grapes as a natural sweetener, or you could just use sugar i suppose.

Great Pineapple Smoothies: Erase Winter Colds With Pineapple

Erase winter colds with Pineapple. This sweet tropical fruit contains Bromelain, an enzyme that eases congestion and suppresses coughs associated with Bronchitis and other respiratory ailments.

PINEAPPLE BUTTERMILK SMOOTHIE

You can throw just about anything in a fruit smoothie to enhance its flavor such as honey, tofu, jams, any combination of fruits, peanut butter, juices, etc., but keep in mind it will effect the nutritional values.

20 ounces unsweetened pineapple chunks
1 cup buttermilk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 teaspoons liquid sweetener
Mint leaves–optional

Drain pineapple, reserving 1/2 cups juice. Freeze pineapple chunks. Place juice, buttermilk,
vanilla, sweetener and frozen pineapple into a blender container.

Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and garnish with mint if desired.

PINEAPPLE YOGURT WHIRL

6 ounces can pineapple juice concentrate, thawed
1/2 cups water
1/2 cups skim milk
8 ounces carton vanilla yogurt
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups ice cubes

Pineapple wedges, for garnish

In a blender container, combine the pineapple juice concentrate, water, milk, yogurt, sugar, and vanilla.

Blend mixture until smooth. With the blender running, add ice cubes slowly through the opening in the lid and blend mixture until slushy.

Pour into tall glasses and decorate each serving with fresh pineapple wedge.

PINEAPPLE CARROT SMOOTHIE

1/2 cups pineapple chunks
1 cup soy milk, any flavor
1 carrot, peeled and sliced
1/3 cups pineapple juice
1-1″ piece ginger, peeled and minced
Honey to taste

Place all ingredients in blender container and blend until everything is smooth.

Add ice if you like it frosty. The ginger adds the “zip”.

Pineapple Smoothie ? Recipe for a Healthier You

Are you a pineapple lover? I bet you are since you’re reading this. Aside from it being a likely ingredient for a fruit smoothie recipe, the pineapple fruit has many uses and benefits. It is low in sodium like most fruits and a thick slice of it contains about 44 calories. This slice also gives you about a third of your daily quota of vitamin C and is said to treat cancer due to bromelain which also has digestive benefits.

Centuries ago, the Indians believed that a pineapple stimulated the appetite. There are not many clinical studies to support this claim, but if you are trying to gain some weight, you may want to try eating a slice or two.

Pulling out a leaf from the pineapple to check for its ripeness isn’t a really good indicator. When choosing a pineapple, look for the one with a yellow to golden orange color. Avoid green pineapples like the plague. Also, watch out for fruits with bruises, discolored areas, dried-out and almost brown leaves, and a shriveled appearance. Smell the base for a sweet scent. If you’ve successfully located and chosen a good, ripe pineapple, it is best to consume it as soon as possible. Should storage really be a necessity, put it in a Ziploc bag to keep it from losing moisture. Refrigerated or not, discard if stored for more than 5 days.

The pineapple is one of the few fruits that can be cooked. It can be a main course with sweet and sour sauces. It goes well with salads and can be used for sherbets, conserves and smoothies because of its unique and tangy taste. The fresh pineapple fares better than the canned variety, specifically with regards to nutritional content.

That said, here are some pineapple smoothie recipes to satisfy your taste buds:

-          Blend one-half of a frozen banana with half a cup of ice and half a cup of orange pineapple juice. Add 1 peeled and sliced orange and half a cup of fresh sliced pineapple. Blend and process until the pineapples are finely blended. Serve immediately.

-          Blend and process the following ingredients: 1 and a half cups of fresh pineapple, a cup of ice, three-fourths cup of milk, half a cup of orange juice, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lime juice. Puree and serve immediately.

-          Blend a cup of crushed ice, 1 large frozen banana, 1 cup of frozen mango, and 1 and a half cups of fresh pineapple. Process. Serve immediately.

The pineapple may be unassuming, but it is definitely a taste to behold. Try a smoothie now and see what wonders it can do for you.
